I've been contacted by a constituent who was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and as a result had their belongings confiscated for more than a year. Could you tell me: a) what the proper process is for the MPS returning people’s property to them and in what time frame this is supposed to happen in, and b) how many people have had their personal items and property held by the MPS for more than 12 months since 2016?

Environment Agency warning on surface water flooding for Monday 23 September
