When the Silvertown Road Tunnel was in development Transport for London (TfL) said – in a paper to the Programmes and Investment Committee board on 8 March 2017 – that this scheme would be off the TfL balance sheet and not compete for funding with other priorities in the TfL Business Plan. Regarding the Metropolitan Police’s ban on officers wearing the ‘Thin Blue Line’ badge as a tribute to colleagues killed in the line of duty, how would you respond to Metropolitan Police Federation Chairman Rick Prior’s comments that: “Officers will be extremely saddened and angry to hear this news. The families of officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep the public safe will be equally dismayed. I urge the Commissioner to urgently reconsider this decision.”
