Mayor support for freedom protests in Iran

A constituent has contacted me after receiving a response from your International Relations team. The constituent was told that you are “fully supportive of the efforts by the international community calling for the Iranian regime to stop the inhumane execution of innocent civilians; and its use of disproportionate force against peaceful protestors; and to hold the Iranian regime to account for its brutal actions on peaceful protestors.” But, they would like to know where you have said this in public, so they can share it with the many Iranians in London?

NHS strike threat

A member of a Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust WhatsApp group said that any doctor who has a visa sponsored by the Trust and decides to go on strike will be reported by the Trust to the Border Force. The Trust has since clarified that they are fully supportive of everyone’s right to strike without judgement, fear or consequence. As Chair of the London Health Board, will you reiterate to London’s health and care leadership that such threats are unacceptable?

Cleaners at UCL Institute of Education

Cleaners at the Institute of Education (IOE) at University College London (UCL) have for many years been expected to use one room as both their changing and break room. The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) union has shared videos of the conditions in the room showing how wastewater often leaks through the ceiling and how the lights in the room regularly stop working.
