Residents living around the OPDC area have raised concerns that community infrastructure is not being provided or safeguarded. The Pentecostal City Mission Church, which was located at 2 Scrubs Lane, has been evicted despite the developer having an agreed obligation as part of a Section 106 (S106) agreement to relocate it. The church is now operating the foodbank Mission Food Aid Partnership for hundreds of local residents from an outdoor courtyard requiring a monthly licence. In the follow-up letter of 31 January 2023 from David Lunts, CEO of OPDC, to the Budget & Performance Committee, he says: “We are proud of our record on affordable housing delivery which stands at 41% - a higher proportion than many boroughs achieve.” However, the Authority Monitoring Report 2021-22 shows that the 41 per cent cited is for both intermediate and affordable housing (see table 5.4: Tenure split of all affordable housing secured through S106 Agreements). On 20 April 2023 at 3:47 pm @MPSIslington and @MPSCamden twitter accounts tweeted: “We'll be using Live Facial Recognition (LFR) technology in Camden and Islington today from 1600hrs. I've been speaking with young people on the London Youth youth board and they tell me that they are concerned that underlying racism causes an unjustified level of strip searches on young Black people. They want to know how the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) can ensure racism does not lead to unfair strip searches and that this power is not overused?
