  • Meeting date: 18 July 2024
The policy of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is that live facial recognition (LFR) deployment locations are determined on the basis of whether a single person or more from a watchlist will attend that location. With current watchlists often spanning over 14,000 people, many of whom are not actively wanted for arrest, this means LFR cameras could be used almost anywhere in London. Are you confident this is a proportionate use of this technology?
