Gypsy and Traveller Londoners I have spoken to are deeply concerned about the derelict state of council-provided sites, overcrowding and homelessness due to the chronic and catastrophic scarcity of pitches, and a general lack of consultation and communication from local councils and the GLA. There are not any London councils who have yet completed and shared health and safety audit reports on the Gypsy and Traveller sites in their boroughs, despite the fact a fresh suite of audits should have been prompted by the 2021 London Plan.
