Hina Bokhari AM: Thank you. Only 23 per cent of venues in London were open past midnight on a Saturday, according to research. Do you still stand by your statement that London is leading the world in its 24-hour policy, and will this be a main priority for the new appointee if selected?

Oral Update to the Mayor's Report (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Gareth Roberts
  • Meeting date: 10 October 2024
Gareth Roberts AM: Thank you for that reply, Mr Mayor. Good morning. I think it is widely accepted that there were some questions regarding the previous appointment and the democratic accountability contained therein. Should you choose to reappoint or fill the vacancy in the Night Czar role, will you ensure that any future appointment to the role will be made as a political appointment in order to allow robust scrutiny by the Assembly, without fear of breaching employment law, as was a recurring problem with Ms Lamé’s appointment?
