  • Reference: 2023/2810
  • Question by: Keith Prince
  • Meeting date: 20 July 2023
How can you reconcile TfL including data showing deaths resulting from “Medical, Assaults, Vandalism” into its bus safety dashboard with your refusal of my request in question 2020/2709 to update that information with data showing deaths of London Bus Drivers from Covid-19?

Updating TfL’s individual Bus Route Pages to include an easily-spotted link to TfL’s 'Who Runs Your Bus?’ webpage

  • Reference: 2023/2809
  • Question by: Keith Prince
  • Meeting date: 20 July 2023
In your response to question 2023/1317, you indicated that TfL had rejected the inclusion of bus operator contact details on every individual bus route page because “the resourcing required to ensure that this information remains accurate for over 600 bus routes would outweigh any benefits” but also that “Transport for London’s (TfL’s) 'Who Runs Your Bus?’ webpage provides all the information needed by a customer seeking to obtain the contact details for a bus operator in order to submit a subject access request.” Is there any good reason why TfL’s IT professionals could not embed an easily spotted link to...

Independent Analysis of the Impact of Bus Contract Incentives on Bus Drivers’ Ability to Adhere to the Equality Act

  • Reference: 2023/2807
  • Question by: Keith Prince
  • Meeting date: 20 July 2023
Given the number of complaints published on social media from mobility-impaired passengers after having been denied a ramp and/or stranded at bus stops by bus drivers, your admission in question 2023/0913 that (a) TfL never conducted any analysis as to how bus contract timeliness incentives might impact upon bus drivers’ ability to adhere to the Equality Act and (b) TfL uses customer satisfaction survey results as an reason for conducting such analysis is, in my view, unacceptable. Will you commission an independent expert to analyse how timeliness incentives in TfL’s bus contracts might impact the ability of bus drivers to...

  • Reference: 2023/2806
  • Question by: Keith Prince
  • Meeting date: 20 July 2023
Following up on your surprising admission that TfL does not collect data concerning incidents “of bus drivers driving by or refusing to board mobility-impaired customers”, how many complaints has TfL received since 2016 that mention ramps or the failure to pick up passengers who self-identify as mobility impaired or requiring extra time to board? Please can you provide a spreadsheet showing the total reports received on an annual basis according to TfL’s financial year?

Dubious Quality of Bus Safety Dashboard Data

  • Reference: 2023/2805
  • Question by: Keith Prince
  • Meeting date: 20 July 2023
In your response to question 2023/0920 you undertook to inform me when TfL had ‘resolved a technical issue it had identified with TfL’s bus safety dashboard which caused a small number of records in its system to display incorrectly (or in this case, not display)’, in this case 3 fatalities from bus safety incidents in 2022. Has this technical issue been resolved or is TfL’s bus safety dashboard data still unreliable?

  • Question by: Keith Prince
  • Meeting date: 20 July 2023
Were the crowded working conditions in bus driver ferry cars and bus depots ever considered in TfL’s ‘Review to identify work activities where social distancing (or separation behind a physical screen) could not be achieved’, which you mentioned in your response to question 2023/0114?

  • Reference: 2023/2803
  • Question by: Keith Prince
  • Meeting date: 20 July 2023
In your response to question 2023/0114, you stated “Across Transport for London, a review was undertaken to identify work activities where social distancing (or separation behind a physical screen) could not be achieved, to determine if those activities should stop, or alternative working methods be introduced.” Please can you provide me with a copy of this review and all communication – including directives, emails, meeting minutes and handwritten notes – associated with it?
