Access to black cab rank at Euston station

  • Reference: 2025/1775
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
Black cab drivers have raised concerns about changes to the access to the cab rank at Euston station from the corner of Euston Road and Eversholt Street. They say it is causing long queues for passengers as cab drivers are no longer able to turn left from the Euston Road, which means they either go a longer way round to get there or do a U-turn on Euston Road. Could you look into this and see what action could be taken to improve access to the rank and reduce waiting times?

Greenwich and Woolwich Foot Tunnels lift service

  • Reference: 2025/1769
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
Thank you for your answer to my question 2025/0793, in which you said: “If no route across the river is available for buses (e.g. if multiple tunnels had to be closed), cyclists and pedestrians would be diverted to alternatives such as the London Cable Car, Jubilee Line, DLR, or Greenwich and Woolwich Foot Tunnels as appropriate.” However, constituents tell me that the lifts at both foot tunnels are often out of service and there is no reliable information on whether the lifts are working before people get there. Given the strategic importance of these foot tunnels for people walking and...
