As the gloriously restored St Pancras station re-opens to the public, including not only beautiful historic features but also some impressive new public art in the shape of Paul Day's `The Meeting Place' and Martin Jennings' tribute to Sir John Betjeman, can the Mayor confirm the date that the Javelin train service will start running from St Pancras to Stratford and what the management plans are for this new service?

Library investment

Would the Mayor join me in welcoming the recent announcement that BIG Lottery is investing over £15 million into library refurbishment, redevelopment or rebuilds to improve the quality and reach of library services in London - and the fact that this represents just under 20 per cent of the total funding of £80 million available for England, giving London the largest overall level of funding of all the English regions?

Open Space Strategy

One of the recommendations in the report related to your London Plan and how it should include a requirement for London boroughs to develop an open space strategy by 2009. Is this requirement included in the revised London Plan and what progress have the boroughs made to devise Open space strategies?

Increased access to private playing fields

The Environment Committee's report on playing fields suggested that the GLA should take responsibility in developing a forum to encourage dialogue between the GLA, the Association of Local Government, Sport England, LOCOG, the ODA and other key stakeholders and private owners of playing fields in order to increase access. Have you been able to make any progress on this front since the publication of the report?

Financial Help for Black Cab Drivers

In October, a black cab driver from Bromley has been trialling the only LPG cab in London on behalf of Computer Cab. Converting a taxi by building an LPG tank in helps cut emissions but can cost up to £2,000. Can cab drivers expect any financial support if they are willing to do so?

Westbourne Park Footbridge

Westbourne Neighbourhood Forum and Westminster Council are trying to secure funding from Sustrans Connect2 to overhaul the Westbourne Park footbridge in Paddington. The idea is to make the bridge over the future Crossrail tracks wider and straighter so that users feel more secure when using the route for more eco friendly ways of transport. In case they fail to secure funding, will you consider including this project in the Crossrail budget?
