The inception of freight deliveries by trams in central Amsterdam (and their long-standing use for recycling and other non-passenger purposes in Zurich and elsewhere in Europe) is anticipated to bring additional benefits in terms of reduced congestion and carbon emissions. Will you investigate the potential use of tram networks to carry freight, alongside the work you are doing to identify sites for freight consolidation centres in Greater London?

Saving Londoners Lives through Emergency Life Support Training

Whilst Cardiac Arrest survival rates in London have trebled in the last five years, there is still a long way to go to reach `world class'. The London Ambulance Service have proposed that around 300 more lives could be saved a year in London for the relatively modest sum of £3m to provide additional emergency life support training. What action will you take to achieve this?

Low Carbon Transport

In view of the recent Guidance to Local Authorities issued last month by the DfT calling for more imaginative applications and appraisals of schemes which include novel applications of technology such as ultra light rail and other alternative modes of low carbon and sustainable public transport, will TfL consider low carbon transport options for routes such as the East London Transit?

Provision and siting of bus stops at hospitals

Do you regard it as acceptable that some hospital authorities give priority on their sites to car parks from which they make revenue, while siting bus stops at an inconvenient distance from entrances? Will you ask TfL to work more closely with hospitals to develop green travel plans that reduce the need to use cars in getting to and from hospital sites?
