Do you still agree that a levy ought to be imposed on chewing gum manufacturers, with the revenue given directly to Councils and public authorities to tackle gum pollution?

Estimated Date of Completion for the Aluna Clock

According to www.alunatime.org an Aluna clock will apparently cost between £4 and £5 million to produce and sponsorship so far has reached about £300,000 for the world wide project- with clocks both in the UK and Australia planned. After the funding has been raised and a feasibility study has been carried out the clocks will take two years to build. With all these factors in mind when do you expect the UK clock to be operational?

GLA sponsorship of the Aluna Clock

As well as the sponsorship just announced from the Core GLA the Aluna clock has received sponsorship from the Docklands Light Railway. Can you confirm what the level of sponsorship raised from the Docklands Light Railway was for this project? Are you aware any other parts of the wider GLA considering donating to this project? If so can you list the sponsorship levels from any other areas of the GLA?

Can you please break down the cost of £58,000 mentioned in MAF3229 relating to the various agreements surrounding the Fourth Plinth project? Specifically what will be the various costs of the unveiling ceremony and what is the value of the agreement with the National Gallery?

Reducing Spending on Walking and Cycling

On Monday the 29th of October the Standard reported a quote from Lynn Sloman, special advisor to the board of TfL, stating that between now and 2012 there will be a 25% cut in walking and cycling expenditure from TfL. Can you break down how much of this decrease will come from decreased TfL spending on borough schemes and how much will come from decreased central TfL spend on walking and cycling? What is the justification for this reduction in spending?

If the vacancy rate of 4.5% for 2006/07 could be more accurately referred to as the vacancy factor why do you call it the vacancy rate both in answers to MQTs and in the GLA corporate plan? Will you please refer to it as the vacancy factor from now on?

Take Up of Income Support Half Price Fares Scheme

The take up of the Income Support half price discount is skewed towards inner London boroughs. Lambeth, Ealing, Hackney and Haringey show the percentage of those on income support in the borough taking up the scheme is between 11.1% and 12.5% but Havering, Bexley, Bromley and Kingston only achieve between 6.2% and 4.3 %. What do you think accounts for this wide range of take up of the scheme across London boroughs and how do you intend to increase take up in those outer London Boroughs where it is presently low?

Memorandum of Understanding with the LDA

Further to your answer to my questions 1536/2007 and 2012/2007 have you yet received the full Memorandum of Understanding between the LDA and GLA in respect of the programme and funding for the Events for London programme 2007/08? If so, will you now please provide the London Assembly with a copy?
