Thank you for your informative and thorough reply to my question 2348/2007. When ongoing maintenance works necessitate regular and routine closures, please could you ask TfL to display the end date of their works on the www/tfl.gov.uk/trafficnews website to "ongoing" which is more reassuring to motorists than "not known".

Your reply also advises that your answer to my question 2348/2007 explains how TfL publicise works that may affect traffic movements. Limehouse Link Tunnel Safety Enhancement Scheme

  • Reference: 2007/2549
  • Question by: John Biggs
  • Meeting date: 14 November 2007
Last month I asked if you could provide full details of the refurbishment, maintenance and any other works being carried out in the Limehouse Link tunnel. Your reply to question 2350/2007 explained the routine maintenance work. Your reply made no mention of the upgrade works as part of the safety enhancement scheme. Why are these works not mentioned on the TfL traffic news website you referred me to in answer 2348/2007? Will you encourage TfL to put information about these upgrade works on their website so that London's motorists can easily find an explanation behind any delays they experience?
