The long-awaited Precision Stop & Search Pilot Proof of concept evaluation report from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) was published on 1 October 2025. The pilot showed that standards weren’t maintained, trust was low and that crime levels did not change. Will Londoners’ experience of stop and search in London change as a result of this pilot?

  • Meeting date: 20 November 2025
I note the recent 2025 report on Global Tipping Points and concerned Londoners who have highlighted the risks of changes to the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) to London. What assessment do you have of the impacts of these tipping points, particularly AMOC on London, and what actions would you plan for in the event that a tipping point was crossed that changed London’s climate dramatically?

Using old rolling stock to provide habitat for nature

  • Reference: 2025/3957
  • Question by: Zack Polanski
  • Meeting date: 20 November 2025
In North America there are numerous examples of artificial reefs that have been created using old rolling stock from their metro and rail systems. I am not aware of any similar such approaches in the UK, and would like to understand why. Could you outline what exploration Transport for London (TfL) or the GLA has made of the potential for artificial reefs made using repurposed infrastructure, and if you will consider it in future?

  • Question by: Zack Polanski
  • Meeting date: 20 November 2025

I understand that other global cities are exploring restrictions on the energy sources used by data centres and the efficiency of the equipment they use. Will you make it a requirement of any new planning permission for data centres and other energy intensive uses of technology that minimise their carbon emissions using available technologies like renewable power and energy efficient computers?

A recent study in the Netherlands has looked into the impacts of ultrafine particles on children, particularly concerned with emissions from airports. Have you asked Heathrow to undertake an assessment of the ultrafine particle emissions and their impacts from the airport already as part of engagement with them in considering the impacts of their operations?
