Greenwich Foot Tunnel lifts and journey planning (2)

  • Reference: 2025/2220
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 June 2025
Thank you for your answer to my question 2025/1770 pointing me to a website run by the Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) for Greenwich Foot Tunnel lift status. The website was last updated on 19th May; it is not a live feed with real-time updates on whether lifts are working. With the closure of Cutty Sark Station more people will be looking for step-free alternatives for their journeys so live updates on lift status in the Greenwich Foot Tunnel are critical. If RBG does not have an Application Programming Interface (API) feed, could Transport for London (TfL) help them deliver...

New bus lane roll-out (4)

  • Reference: 2025/2219
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 June 2025
Thank you for the information provided in your answer to my question 2025/1766 describing elements that ‘will help to increase bus usage and build a more attractive bus service’. Could you now tell me whether the 20km of bus lanes proposed to be delivered by boroughs over the next three years is sufficient to reverse the recent decline in bus use and to increase it in line with the mode share target in the Mayor’s Transport Strategy (MTS)?

Membership of the TfL board

  • Reference: 2025/2216
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 June 2025
A constituent has contacted me about the recent announcement of the appointment of new members to the board of Transport for London (TfL). They raised that while representation of all stakeholders including taxi drivers is important, there are no board members whose biography highlights a strong background in health and safety. They suggested that since Vision Zero is a key part of TfL’s agenda, this could be something of interest for the future. What is your response to this point, and will you consider appointing a board member who has experience in this area?

Could you provide data broken down by how many are: a) replacing (non-obsolete) demolished affordable homes, b) buying homes for use as affordable housing, and c) refurbishing supported housing?

Rough Sleeping Plan of Action verification process

  • Reference: 2025/2214
  • Question by: Zoë Garbett
  • Meeting date: 19 June 2025
Your Rough Sleeping Plan of Action published last month sets a target to “replace the current practice of ‘verifying’ that someone is sleeping rough before they can access support, with an approach based on an assessment of people’s needs, by 2028.” I am pleased to see this action being taken, as this is an issue frequently raised by campaigners and charities as a key issue with current outreach services. Could you explain why it will take three years to change the existing approach?
