London’s Growth Plan and active travel (2)

  • Reference: 2025/2233
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 June 2025
Thank you for your answer to my question 2025/1795, in which you said: “For emerging innovation districts, the London Plan requires new developments to follow the Healthy Streets Approach.” Where are the funds for the walkable innovation districts coming from, and how will they be allocated to the boroughs?

Successes of the Mayor’s Transport Strategy

  • Reference: 2025/2232
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 June 2025
What do you consider to be the chief successes of your Transport Strategy, and what do you consider to be the challenges still to be addressed?

Oxford Street pedestrianisation and legal powers (2)

  • Reference: 2025/2231
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 June 2025
Thank you for your answer to my question 2025/1793, in which you said: “I would expect there to be close collaboration with Transport for London (TfL) and Westminster City Council to allow proposals to be developed effectively.” If this close collaboration cannot be secured, and mindful of the risk that any scheme is unlikely to be ready to be implemented until after the May 2026 local elections, what legal powers would you use to ensure that if Oxford Street is pedestrianised, space and priority on surrounding streets is reallocated to buses, cycling and walking?
