Met Police support for e-scooter/bikes new parking bays

TfL is currently working together with London Boroughs to develop a new approach to tackle poorly parked bikes causing access or safety issues. This includes more parking bays for e-scooters and e-bikes. However, it seems the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is opposed to this principle as they are actively objecting to new parking bays for e-scooters in consultations organised by local boroughs. The Met Police are objecting on safety reasons and as it would place an unrealistic demand on the MPS for enforcement.
