The March 2025 report, The impact of drug-related law enforcement activity on serious violence and homicide: A systematic review, by RAND Europe, commissioned by the Home Office found that: “Overall, the available evidence suggests that drug-related law enforcement activities are of limited effectiveness in reducing violence. Indeed, more studies demonstrated an association between drug-related law enforcement activities and increased violence than decreased violence.” What learning will MOPAC and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) be taking from the publication of this report?

Hospital knife amnesty bins

St George's Hospital in Tooting recently brought in a knife amnesty bin near the emergency department for people to anonymously dispose of weapons. It’s been reported that during the first six months 87 knives were surrendered. Will you, MOPAC, and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) explore working with other hospitals in London to install knife amnesty bins to help take these knives off London’s streets?
