Decarbonisation

  • Reference: 2022/5328
  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
You continue to push decarbonisation, which I support. However I am concerned that the push for decarbonisation will increase the reliance on electricity which could push an already struggling grid to overload. Would you look at how this can be mitigated whilst you push for decarbonisation?

Net-Zero Target (2)

  • Reference: 2022/5327
  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
A large part of achieving net-zero is carbon offset. What further offset projects will you be implementing to meet your target?

Net-Zero Target (1)

  • Reference: 2022/5326
  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
The Environment Committee had an interesting time at the roundtable on Green Transition. Many businesses expressed their concern with your net-zero target by 2030 as the British Retail Consortium’s target is 2040. How will you achieve net-zero by 2030 if London based businesses are working towards a 2040 target?

TfL Bus Wraparound (2)

  • Reference: 2022/5325
  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
The wraparound advert is extremely misleading as you have set a target of a zero-emission bus fleet by 2034. Will you rectify these advertisements and also publish your actual zero-emissions data on buses?

TfL Bus Wraparound (1)

  • Reference: 2022/5324
  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
On TfL buses there are adverts claiming that all London buses are zero-emission and low-emission. The 'zero-emission' is in large font with 'low-emission' in smaller font. Given that the bus fleet are all low emission but only about 10% are zero-emission is this is false advertisement, and should the font sizes should be reversed?

Edmonton Incinerator (3)

  • Reference: 2022/5323
  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
How will you keep your commitment of a net-zero city by 2030 if the Edmonton Incinerator goes ahead without carbon capture?

Edmonton Incinerator (2)

  • Reference: 2022/5322
  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
Will you be able to guarantee that waste will not be imported to Edmonton incinerator to be used to heat the Harringay District heat network?

Edmonton Incinerator (1)

  • Reference: 2022/5321
  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
Following the tragic death of a construction worker at the Edmonton Incinerator, will you commit to push for the practices at the site to be investigated as I am extremely concerned that more individuals will be harmed?

Wall Insulation (2)

  • Reference: 2022/5320
  • Question by: Emma Best
  • Meeting date: 15 December 2022
The report on your Pathways to Net Zero document in 2018 outlined that 1,295,000 domestic properties required solid wall insulation, compared to 885,000 domestic properties requiring cavity wall insulation. Why have you continued to focus on cavity wall insulation when the number of properties requiring solid wall insulation is far higher?

Wall Insulation (1)

  • Reference: 2022/5319
