In 2010, the Child Poverty Act was passed with cross-party support and imposed a legal duty on governments to produce a child poverty strategy. This was abolished in 2016 by the Welfare Reform and Work Act. Following the new units to address child poverty as seen in Ireland, Scotland and New Zealand, will you write to the Prime Minister to bring back a child poverty strategy which would apply to London?

Taoiseach ‪ Leo Varadkar has said that he will establish a new unit to work across government to address child poverty, following the experience of Scotland and New Zealand where similar units have had a significant impact.
