  • Reference: 2023/0808
  • Question by: Sem Moema

  • Question by: Sem Moema

ULEZ Implementation (3)

  • Reference: 2023/0803
  • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
  • Meeting date: 23 February 2023
My constituent states that there is no distinction between the different levels: a Euro V or Euro 5 diesel pays the same charge as a Euro 1 or Euro I. He asks why a vehicle that potentially produces 28 times the particulates and can be used for 24 hours is charged the same as a car that may enter for five minutes?

ULEZ Implementation (2)

  • Reference: 2023/0802
  • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
  • Meeting date: 23 February 2023
My constituent questions the midnight-to-midnight rule, instead of 24 hours. If someone drives a few hundred yards in the zone just before midnight, and then out again just after midnight, the cost is £25. A vehicle entering the zone just after midnight, driven continuously for up to 23 hours (perhaps with three or four drivers) only pays £12.50. He claims this will hit night workers who are more likely to be lower paid and not able to use public transport, and who will end up paying £25 to drive to and from shifts. He also states that people going out...

ULEZ Implementation (1)

  • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
  • Meeting date: 23 February 2023
A constituent drives a 2009 Euro V diesel, which he believes has the same engine as the Euro 6 version. Under the ULEZ scheme, penalty-free access to the centre of London for diesels applies to those which comply with the Euro 6 standard. He asks why did you not work with manufacturers to upgrade all diesels, so that they all complied with ULEZ requirements?

Resignation of Metropolitan Police Officers (2)

  • Reference: 2023/0800
  • Question by: Krupesh Hirani
  • Meeting date: 23 February 2023
The response to a Freedom of Information request submitted in December 2022 shows that 1,837 Police Officers recruited under the Government’s Police Uplift Programme have already resigned. However, this number does not include resignations from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). Can you provide information on how many MPS Officers recruited under the Police Uplift Programme (PUP) scheme have already resigned?
