The most recent internal audit of LLDC includes a £144.4m provision for construction cost overruns. Given this poor value for money for London’s taxpayers, how can you justify another Mayoral Development Corporation?

Net Zero Exposure for London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA)

  • Reference: 2025/2747
  • Question by: Alex Wilson
  • Meeting date: 11 September 2025
As the administering authority behind the Local Government Pension Scheme which is the scheme for most of the GLA Group, the LPFA has announced its plan to invest some £400m of its assets in “climate solutions”. Given the poor returns of similar strategies (over the last 5 years, Greencoat UK Wind, a leading renewable investment fund returned under 20 per cent compared with just under 100 per cent for FTSE 350 Oil, Coal & Gas), will you urge the LPFA to revisit its plans in order to avoid taxpayers having to make up future shortfalls? Brent Council Twinning with Nablus

  • Reference: 2025/2743
  • Question by: Alex Wilson
  • Meeting date: 11 September 2025
In your “Loved and Wanted” campaign, you stated that “our city stands strong against hate” and that regardless of faith, “all will be welcomed, valued and cherished.” In the London Borough of Brent, over 2,300 residents signed a petition against the Council’s twinning with Nablus not least because they were concerned that 7 out of 15 Nablus council members were backed by Hamas. The Borough’s own Equality Analysis warned that: “The Twinning may, at the very least, cause emotional harm to some groups in Brent.” Given your “Loved and Wanted” campaign, do you support the twinning of Brent with Nablus...

London Trans+ Pride

  • Reference: 2025/2742
  • Question by: Alex Wilson
  • Meeting date: 11 September 2025
On July 26th, you posted on X via your Mayor of London account: “Today our capital proudly marks seven years of London Trans+ Pride” and that “London is a city that stands for equality, dignity and pride – for everyone.” However, London Trans+ Pride posted a list of those that its march was “not the place for”. Listed alongside Bigotry, Racism and others was “Zionism”. Since, according to research by the Campaign Against Antisemitism, 80% of British Jews regard themselves as Zionists, and since the IHRA defines “Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination” as antisemitic, will you now...

Recognition of Taiwan

  • Reference: 2025/2741
  • Question by: Alex Wilson
  • Meeting date: 11 September 2025
Given your recent pronouncements on the future of Palestine, will you extend your global interventionism to request that the UK Government recognises Taiwan, given that it is a self-proclaimed independent territory, regularly holds free and fair democratic elections and averages total annual trade with the UK of some £9.3bn, mostly with London?
