In December 2021, survey results showed 58 per cent of respondents had low morale and 12 per cent intended to resign from the Metropolitan Police Service either as soon as possible or in the next two years. This has since risen to 96 per cent of respondents from the Metropolitan Police Service feeling that morale within the force is ‘low’ or ‘very low’, with a third of Met Police Officers planning on quitting within the next two years or as soon as possible. Why has there been such a decrease in morale?
