FOI - Communications with FairFuel UK [Mar 2023]

Your request

1.    All communication (including, but not limited to, emails, written correspondence, text messages, and Whatsapp and other messaging app messages) between Conservative Members of the London Assembly and the organisation FairFuelUK, its Founder Howard Cox, or any person acting on behalf of FairFuelUK between 20 May 2022 and today’s date.

2.    All communication (including, but not limited to, emails, written correspondence, text messages, and Whatsapp and other messaging app messages) between members of staff working in the London Assembly Conservative Group office and the organisation FairFuelUK, its Founder Howard Cox, or any person acting on behalf of FairFuelUK between 20 May 2022 and today’s date.

Please provide information relating to the two points above separately, to distinguish between the two groups of information.

Our response

Please see the attached emails which are between FairFuelUK and and a Conservative group press officer. Two London Assembly Members (Conservative group) are copied into some but not all of the emails. 

Please note that some names are exempt from disclosure under section 40 (Personal information) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This information would identify specific employees and as such constitutes personal data which is defined by Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual. It is considered that disclosure of this information would contravene the first data protection principle under Article 5(1) of GDPR which states that personal data must be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject.
