We intend to apply under the digital strand. Because digital is a underpinning function across a range of sectors, we expect to provide employer statements from both specialist tech companies (where their core business is delivery of tech to the market); tech-enabled companies (where their product can only reach the market via tech such as online retail), and tech-supported companies (a non-tech company that simply uses tech internally/externally for purposes of efficiency).
Can you please confirm that all three kinds of company listed above be acceptable given the nature of the digital sector?
The GLA confirms the three kinds of company listed are acceptable given the nature of the digital sector.
The GLA understands the fluid nature of sector definitions and also employers themselves. The GLA are open to a range of employers being included within this section. However, there must be a clear rationale between the employer statements and the named sector. If the GLA is unsure about any information, it will come back with any clarification questions.
