The Knowledge

  • Reference: 2012/2186
  • Question by: Navin Shah
  • Meeting date: 04 July 2012
I have been contacted by a constituent who is interested in taking The Knowledge and has attempted to contact the London Taxi and Private Hire to question them about the process. However, unfortunately he found the phone number provided on the TfL website was unhelpful. Will you please ensure a contact number is available on the website where people interested in speaking to someone directly about taking The Knowledge can easily be found?

Where have you allowed standard self-service Oyster Card machines to be installed, other than at TfL and National Rail stations? What financial arrangements, and collection and maintenance regimes, would, say a shopping centre have to agree, in order to be allowed to have one?

Do you approve of Sir Terry Farrell's Old Oak light-rail proposal, and would you favour any Kensal Crossrail station to be convertible, in its specified design, to light-rail, for when and if Old Oak Crossrail/HS2 station is built, with light-rail perhaps being extended at that time to Westbourne Park station?

What is your opinion on the relative merits of Crossrail stations at Kensal in Kensington & Chelsea, and one at Old Oak in Hammersmith & Fulham in the future? Do you favour Crossrail connecting to the West Coast Main Line, which would end any "Paddington terminators" at Kensal?

  • Reference: 2012/2181
  • Question by: Navin Shah
  • Meeting date: 04 July 2012
If the approved Brent Cross Cricklewood scheme becomes overwhelmingly a retail development, do you support the provision of a newly-considered 'living bridge' over the A406 North Circular Road? If 'small shops, cafes or community facilities' were placed on it, would you have a duty of care regarding air quality, for staff working on the bridge?
