Crossrail employment opportunities

  • Reference: 2012/2209
  • Question by: Murad Qureshi
  • Meeting date: 04 July 2012
I have been contacted by a constituent who is questioning Crossrail's' record in providing employment opportunities and apprenticeships for local young people. This particular lady lives in the Queens Park Ward in Westminster and has a son who has qualifications in Civil Engineering but who has, to date had little success in securing a viable employment opportunity with Crossrail. Can you please let me know what Crossrail's' targets are in this respect and how many local people have been employed by Crossrail since inception of the scheme? I have already written to Crossrail about this but without avail.
