TfL - Local Council communication

  • Reference: 2012/3268
  • Question by: Joanne McCartney
  • Meeting date: 17 October 2012
A resident has written to me to complain that when they reported a defective street light to TfL, on what they believed was a TfL road, they were instructed to contact their local council instead as it was not a TfL light. Could TfL please introduce a system whereby a notification is sent directly to the relevant council in a case such as this, rather than putting the onus back on to a good and concerned resident?

Further to Question Number 1660/2012 and 1661/2012, residents and the Bowes ward councillors have contacted me with regard to the number of accidents that are occurring on the A406 Bounds Green section since the new road scheme came into operation. Can you please give details of the number and type of accidents that have taken place since the new scheme was introduced and what measures TfL are considering in order to improve the safety on this stretch of road? Serious Youth Violence - changing statistics

  • Reference: 2012/3263
  • Question by: Joanne McCartney
  • Meeting date: 17 October 2012
Are you aware that the Metropolitan Police Service has decided not to collect and publish serious youth violence statistics as has been recent practice? Instead, local councils have been told they will only have access to selected data, including gang members in custody and gang members subject to judicial restriction. This is not helpful as it gives no indication as to the number of victims involved (as the SYV figure is measured on this basis) and it is also a retreat from transparency on one of your key priorities. Will you ensure that serious youth violence figures will be collected...

Eastern Enfield Bus Deficiency

  • Reference: 2012/3259
  • Question by: Joanne McCartney
  • Meeting date: 17 October 2012
Can TfL please look at providing a bus route along Eastern Enfield, linking up the various industrial sites situated there with local transport hubs such as Edmonton Green? In an area which provides many jobs and is set to grow in the future, especially with the proposed large housing development at Meridian Water such a route is desperately needed.
