The Transport for London (TfL) Programmes and Investment Committee on 26 June 2024 included a paper on the Streets, Bus and Rail and Sponsored Services (RSS) Renewals Programme, which said that environmental benefits should include “planting of additional trees and shrubs, where appropriate”. However, in appendix five of that paper it said there is no allocated budget for the capital renewal of landscape and that zero trees are expected to be planted on 2024-25. Could you explain how TfL is investing in additional tree cover in London when there is no budget allocated to it in this programme?
