Regarding the Piccadilly line upgrade the TfL website reads: “Fully upgrading the line-wide signalling to enable automatic train operation with additional trains would allow for a peak service of up to 36 trains an hour in the central area during peak hours, for a 64% increase in capacity compared to current levels. How much we can do will depend on the funding available.” How much additional funding does TfL need to complete these improvements in full?
