Gareth Roberts AM: It is on the subject of international visitors to the capital, Mr Mayor. If there is to be a tourist tax introduced and levied on international visitors, will you be seeking to ensure there is equitable distribution amongst the borrowers of such revenues, or will you be seeking to keep it all for your own - not personal use - mayoral use?

Marina Ahmad AM: Thank you. Mr Mayor, we should be really proud of the work of the VRU. It was the first one that was set up in the country and another example of where London leads, the rest of the country follows. You talked about over 80 per cent of positive feedback from participants. I wonder if there is a story that you might want to share with us about an individual’s experience?

Susan Hall AM: Thank you. Mr Mayor, crime is going to increase because we have fewer police officers on the streets than we used to have. There is no doubt about it: if you do not get to grips with the finances of the police then we will have more and more crime. As the nights draw in and they are, shoplifting and so on, the shopkeepers are more and more concerned, and I have to tell you women are feeling less and less safe on the streets.
