Three reviews by the MPS obtained by The Public Safety Foundation—Leicester Square (2022), Hainault (30 Apr 2024) and Enfield (Apr 2024)—show repeated and persistent officer-safety failures. These include: training labelled “unrealistic and stagnant,” PAVA (irritant spray) proving ineffective, a trained Taser officer unable to carry after cancelled refreshers, and a decision not to deploy armed officers to an edged-weapon call. These all resulted in officers being stabbed by armed criminals. Do you accept that unarmed officers are routinely and regularly being exposed to foreseeable risk of death and serious harm?
