384 bus

  • Reference: 2017/1794
  • Question by: Andrew Dismore
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2017
The 384 bus route is a popular route in the north of Barnet, serving residents of Cockfosters, East Barnet, New Barnet and High Barnet, many of whom live a long way from other bus routes. It forms an important transport link to Barnet Hospital, JCOSS and High Barnet station. Yet TfL plan on reducing the frequency of the service in weekdays from 15 minutes to 20 minutes, and remove the extra bus serving the JCOSS School run. Will you reverse this decision and ensure all Londoners have access to regular bus services?

  • Reference: 2017/1793
  • Question by: Tom Copley

Does the Mayor share Centrepoint's concerns that the removal of housing benefit from Universal Credit for under 21s increases the risk of refused tenancies to under 21s, increasing homelessness and the cost to local authorities?

LGBT Asylum Seekers

  • Reference: 2017/1792
  • Question by: Tom Copley
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2017
The Home Office has recently published guidance stating that it may be acceptable for LGBT asylum seekers fleeing persecution in Afghanistan to pretend to be straight and be deported to Kabul. This goes against both United Nations guidance of refugees and the advice of the Home Office's own Afghanistan unit. Will you write to the Home Office to ask that this guidance is withdrawn and will be reaffirm that London is open to those fleeing persecution, and possibly even death, from Afghanistan and around the world?

Permitting photographs on TfL property

  • Question by: Tom Copley
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2017
A constituent has asked me to query whether guidance could be issued on the TfL website for transport enthusiasts to be able to take photos and videos on the TfL network. A permit from TfL to allow professional photographers to take photos and videos on the TfL network costs £500, could more advice be given around what is deemed acceptable for transport enthusiasts to take photographs and videos on TfL property?

Garden Bridge (1)

  • Reference: 2017/1788
  • Question by: Tom Copley
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2017
Your Chief of Staff has met with the Garden Bridge Trust on three occasions, but has not yet met with anyone from the local community campaigning against the project. Will you meet with these campaigners yourself, or instruct your chief of staff to meet with them, to demonstrate that your administration is not just listening to the Garden Bridge Trust's PR machine?
