Discounted Taxi/PHV Fares (1)

Will the Mayor confirm if it is legal for Taxi and Private Higher Operators to offer discounted and sometimes free fares that book through their app. Is this predatory pricing by these companies and what action is the Mayor taking against such offenders.

Private Hire Drivers Income

The previous Mayor introduced an age limit on Taxi and Private High vehicles. Since then TFL/TPH has licensed an additional 40-50,000 Private Higher Drivers this is forcing income of both trades to fall. Can the Mayor explain how drivers are expected to purchase new vehicles if income is becoming less and less.

Uber Licences Revoked

Can the Mayor please confirm how many PHD have had their licence suspended with immediate effect that works on the Uber App since Uber were licensed and for what reasons.

There has been a High Court case involving Uber and an Industrial Tribunal case but none state when the booking is accepted in its London Office. Can you please confirm at which point of the booking process for an Uber PHV the booking is accepted in its London office?

English Language Test (2)

Uber have suggested that 33,000 minicab drivers (28 per cent) would either fail the test or be put off from attempting to renew their licence over a period of three years. Does TfL agree with this suggestion? If not, can you provide your own estimations on how this test will affect the number of Private Hire Drivers in one, three and five years after it is introduced?

TfL assume that that 40% of people taking the English Language Test would fail it. Please provide the evidence that led TfL to that conclusion.
