At the January 2017 Transport Committee meeting, Leon Daniels (Managing Director, Surface Transport, TfL) said, "In respect of articulated buses, their worst feature was the level of fare evasion, I am afraid. In the current financial situation, that really could not be encouraged". I would like to know the cost per km per passenger carried of an articulated bus versus a double decker bus. Therefore please provide me with details of the current operating cost and capacity of a double deck bus and an historical figure for the operating cost and capacity of an articulated bus.

Does TfL have plans to introduce anymore limited stop routes on routes that are not served by existing rail lines, in order to move people from the rail network to the bus network?

The X68 is the only limited stop bus running a radial route and the X26 is the only limited stop bus running an orbital route. Does TfL have plans to introduce anymore limited stop routes on routes where the rail network is at capacity?

When considering the business case for a new rail line or an upgrade to an existing one, does TfL's modelling take account of the potential for savings to be made from not needing to run parallel bus routes as frequently?

What capacity improvements on the rail and underground networks are planned? Please show the increase in passengers each improvement will allow.

Passenger journeys analysis in the latest business plan shows an 11% increase in bus passengers from 2016/17 to 2021/22. Are you able to break down the figures to show the change in bus passenger numbers in central London, inner London and outer London?
