  • Reference: 2019/20749
  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 19 December 2019
In your answer to my question 2018/2546, on the deaths and serious incidents in police custody report, you told me that you accepted the recommendation to “end use of police custody for children detained under section 136 Mental Health Act”. Can you confirm that no children have been detained in police custody in London under the Mental Health Act since October 2018?

Helping police officers to live in London

  • Reference: 2019/20748
  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 19 December 2019
The first two recommendations of the Harris report into London’s preparedness to respond to a major terrorist incident are about the three main ‘blue light’ emergency services workers living outside of London, and the need to have them housed in London. What work has your office done to offer affordable, specific housing for key workers in London’s police force?

Homes for Londoners online property portal (2)

  • Reference: 2019/20747
  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 19 December 2019
Thank you for your answer to my question 2019/20143. As of 4 December 2019 only seven properties are available to rent through the portal, and five of these are at discount market rent (i.e. 80 per cent of market rent) a definition of ‘affordable’ that you said you had ‘ditched’. How many homes have been offered to rent through your Homes for Londoners online property portal at (a) discount market rent (b) London Living Rent and (c) London affordable rent, since its launch?

Southeastern service between St Pancras and Stratford International (2)

  • Reference: 2019/20746
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 December 2019
In your answer to my question 2018/3045, you confirmed that the Stratford to St. Pancras International journey is now the only rail journey (other than the Heathrow Express) that can be made in London without being included in the daily fares cap. What steps have you now taken to press for this journey to be included within the daily cap, given that Southeastern has, to date, not been prepared to accept the reduction in its revenue that would result from allowing caps to apply and accepting Travelcards?

North London Line service on Sundays

  • Reference: 2019/20745
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 December 2019
Constituents have raised concerns with me about North London Line service starting at 9:30 on a Sunday morning. This gap in service severely affects people working shifts who need an early morning service, and forces them into cars or to take much longer journeys via zone 1 which are slower and more expensive than using the North London Line. What possibilities are there to address this issue, which makes using public transport far too difficult?

Bus stops near schools

  • Reference: 2019/20744
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 December 2019
Constituents have raised concerns with me about the effects of buses idling at stops near schools. Can you confirm how many bus stops are within 50m of a school, and explain how Transport for London (TfL) is working to deliver changes to reduce such idling by reducing traffic or changing bus stop locations?

Exempt vehicles in the Ultra Low Emission Zone

  • Reference: 2019/20743
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 December 2019
In the report on the first six months of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) you say that 38 per cent of non-compliant vehicles were eligible for a 100 per cent discount or exemption. Can you detail how this breaks down for each type of discount and exemption?

World class tube reliability

  • Reference: 2019/20742
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 December 2019
Transport for London (TfL) have been focused on getting the highest timetable services possible from existing train fleets. There have been major issues on the Jubilee and Central lines where a lack of available trains has severely cut the service. What assessment has TfL made of the risks to the reliability of high frequency services when operating with fewer spare trains?
