Fatigue Audit IA 13744 (1)

  • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
  • Meeting date: 14 November 2019
Point 4.0 (page 9) of the 2014 internal audit of TOL's Croydon Tram operation (IA 13 744), contains information that an outside audit by a company called "AbsTracked Solutions” found seven 'weaknesses' in TOL's safety management processes. AbsTracked Solutions audit conclusion on TOL's safety management system was 'adequate', not the higher classification of 'well controlled’ given by TfL’s Internal Audit IA 13744. Did TfL, during the course of fieldwork for IA 13 744 or at any point subsequently ask what those seven weaknesses identified by AbsTracked Solutions were? What actions, if any, did TfL undertake to ensure that Tram Operations...

Concerns have been expressed that some of Dial-a-Ride VW Bluebird buses have had their front ramp removed leading to uncertainty as to how wheelchair users could be safely evacuated if the bus was hit in the rear by another vehicle. What assurances can TfL provide to drivers and passengers that this issue has been properly assessed?

  • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
  • Meeting date: 14 November 2019
A constituent has contacted me raising concerns that at peak hours in the morning and afternoon pedestrians are unable to cross Tower Bridge Road once they have the priority to do so. This is due to the fact that the vehicles turning right from Druid Street into Tower Bridge Road are blocking their way. What steps are being taken to regulate the traffic at these specific times?

Bakerloo Line extension (3)

  • Reference: 2019/20151
  • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
  • Meeting date: 14 November 2019
TfL is currently advertising 11 public exhibitions relating to the Bakerloo Line extension, yet despite it including the proposal to convert the Hayes line to London Underground south of Lewisham there are no advertised public exhibitions being held south of Lewisham. Will TfL ensure that as part of its consultation there are public exhibitions held in such locations as Catford, lower Sydendham, New Beckenham, Clock House, Elmers End, Eden Park, West Wickham and Hayes?

Bakerloo Line extension (2)

  • Reference: 2019/20150
  • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
  • Meeting date: 14 November 2019
TfL’s latest consultation on the extension of the Bakerloo line states that as part of any works to convert the Hayes line to London Underground operation it would involve making all stations fully step free, both within the stations and from street to train. Please state how many stations on the Hayes line south of Lewisham do not currently meet these standards and what is TfL’s estimate of the cost of making these access improvements?

Bakerloo Line extension (1)

  • Reference: 2019/20149
  • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
  • Meeting date: 14 November 2019
In 2014 TfL released a consultation on the Bakerloo line extension which estimated the cost of the full extension from Elephant and Castle to Hayes as £2bn to 3bn and the preferred option as £3bn. This included both the tunnelled section from Elephant and Castle to Lewisham, as well as converting the National Rail line from Hayes to the standards of London Underground infrastructure. The new consultation document estimates the cost of an extension only from Elephant and Castle to Lewisham at £4.7bn to £7.9bn (in 2017 prices). Please set out the specific reasons why in such a short period...

Identity checks to Londoners crossing Lambeth Bridge

  • Reference: 2019/20148
  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 14 November 2019
On 15 October 2019, officers from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) were stationed on Lambeth Bridge stopping members of the public and asking them to present identification. Since police don’t commonly have the power to ask for identification and the public don’t have a duty to show them any or even provide their name, what was the purpose of this, under which powers were these checks carried out, and who issued the order to officers to carry out these checks?

  • Reference: 2019/20147
  • Question by: Siân Berry
  • Meeting date: 14 November 2019
Thank you for your answer to my question 2018/2549. You previously told me, in September 2018, that Metropolitan Police officers working on roads and traffic will temporarily be moved to strengthen London's Violent Crime Taskforce. When will the Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) be restored to a full complement of staff?
