  • Reference: 2025/1605
  • Question by: Elly Baker
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
On the 2 April 2025 during the debate on the Bus Services (No. 2) Bill [HL], Lord Hendy of Richmond said, “We also recognise that more needs to be done to make these installations accessible to all, which is why the department is working…with Active Travel England and Transport for London to provide further guidance and undertake research to fill the gaps in our knowledge and evidence base”. Can you update me on what TfL is doing to support this work?

Santander Docking Stations

  • Reference: 2025/1604
  • Question by: Elly Baker
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
A constituent has reported that the Santander cycle docking stations around Green Park are sometimes full during the weekday mornings, so they are unable to drop off their bike. I understand Santander Cycles has a member of staff at St. James’ Square to collect extra bikes, but this is only on Tuesday to Thursday. Can you confirm what the levels of spare docks in this area are, and whether the arrangements for collecting bikes need strengthening?

Road Traffic Trends

  • Reference: 2025/1603
  • Question by: Elly Baker
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025

Uber’s Trip Radar (2)

  • Question by: Elly Baker
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
Has TfL asked Uber to provide any safety studies or risk assessments specific to the impact of “Trip Radar” on driver alertness in a city as complex as London? Did TfL require Uber to undertake or provide any safety assessment?

Uber’s Trip Radar (1)

  • Reference: 2025/1600
  • Question by: Elly Baker
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
Uber has introduced the “trip radar” product for its private hire drivers. Was TfL consulted before this feature was introduced and what feedback, if any, was given to Uber by TfL?

Digital Exclusion

  • Reference: 2025/1599
  • Question by: Elly Baker
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
London Travelwatch’s new report “Logged out? Why digital exclusion is still leaving Londoners behind” shows that advances in technology can make travelling on public transport difficult for people who might be digitally excluded or disadvantaged. How is TfL responding to the recommendations from this report?
