The London Fire Brigade (LFB) recently wrote to the London Assembly’s Fire Committee (26th March 2025) advising that ‘the number of cases resulting in suspension or dismissal fully or partially based on social media since the Culture Review is too small to disclose without breaching GDPR rules.’ Does the Mayor agree that GDPR prevents the LFB from reporting the numbers and outcomes of cases involving social media use?

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) is currently conducting DBS checks for all employees. Of those completed so far 3% are positive. Can the Mayor please supply information on: 1) the number of employees who have been assessed against the National Fire Chiefs Council Disclosure and Baring Service risk assessment, to determine if a referral to the Professional Standards Unit (PSU) is appropriate; 2) the number of employees who have met the threshold for a referral to the PSU; and 3) the results of PSU processes arising from DBS checks?
