In July 2022 TfL started to collect data on the number of drivers needed to run the bus network in London, along with how many drivers were actually employed in London. As of May 2023, TfL needs 24,735 drivers, but only have 22,225 on the books. What effect does this shortfall of drivers have on TfL’s ability to deliver an excellent bus network?
