New Piccadilly Line trains

The first of the new Piccadilly line trains will become operational in 2025. The Piccadilly line will operate a mix of old and new trains until all 94 of the new trains enter service by 2027. It has been reported that because the new trains are longer, platform edges at some stations will need to be “shaved” to accommodate the new trains. This will lead to a bigger gap for passengers getting on or off the old trains. Beckton Depot

With Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd going into administration, the upgrade on Beckton Depot to house the new DLR trains is on hold. What options are currently being considered to ensure the depot is finished on time to house the new trains?

It was disappointing to hear from TfL that the Sutton tram extension will not go ahead. Residents in Mitcham and Sutton have poor transport links and this would have been a major improvement. What alternatives are you considering to help these parts of London and will you reconsider a tram extension if funds become available?

Taxi Shelters

There are only 13 Taxi Shelters left in London. Many are inaccessible due to insufficient parking spaces and are lacking proper toilet and hand washing facilities. There are 17,000 taxi drivers who could be using them but rarely do. This lack of facilities is particularly impacting female drivers and drivers at night. What are you doing to improve facilities for taxi drivers?

The Belgian Ministry for Transport has ordered an investigation into alleged data breaches by TfL’s collection agent Euro Parking Collection which obtained registered keeper details and passed them on to Euro Parking for UK enforcement. How many fines have been issued with data from this collection agent? How many fines, and their value, are still outstanding?
