Are you at all concerned that the lack of a viable second-hand market for the TX will accelerate calls to allow other electric taxi manufacturers to enter the London market?

  • Reference: 2025/1515
  • Question by: Hina Bokhari OBE
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
LEVC’s stance suggests that TX taxis become unreliable after just five years, making them a poor investment in the second-hand market. What impact does TfL foresee this having on the availability and affordability of taxis for new entrants to the trade?

  • Reference: 2025/1514
  • Question by: Hina Bokhari OBE

London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) (3)

  • Reference: 2025/1513
  • Question by: Hina Bokhari OBE
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
Do you agree that LEVC’s refusal to support taxi drivers with costly repairs on vehicles with relatively low mileage undermines the long-term viability of the TX model for drivers? Given the financial burden this places on drivers, what assessment has TfL made of the impact on the taxi trade, especially in terms of vehicle affordability and driver retention?

  • Question by: Hina Bokhari OBE
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
Is TfL aware that LEVC is reportedly refusing to support drivers with critical component failures on relatively low-mileage vehicles, despite previously assuring TfL that cases would be assessed on an individual basis?

West Cromwell Road Trees

  • Reference: 2025/1509
  • Question by: Gareth Roberts
  • Meeting date: 22 May 2025
I have been told that a number of trees were recently removed on West Cromwell Road outside a Tesco supermarket as part of a planning application which you approved. I understand that the trees were on land that would not be further developed, were healthy and in an area of London with a high level of air pollution. This has upset many local residents who have contacted their local Councillors. Why did you feel it necessary to approve the removal of these healthy trees?

It has been reported that a working group called the Joint Reform Team, which includes the National Police Chief’s Council, is drawing up proposals for a new national police body to lead on counter-terrorism policing.
