Would you not agree that this article is hardly objective, and actually is grossly offensive to the large numbers of Jewish people that live in London?

  • Meeting date: 17 November 2004
Mayor, finally, just very, very briefly ' I will not go on about this too much ' but would you not agree in future, perhaps, to ' I do not know ' show this article to somebody else, and that perhaps a bit more of it should be about the Trade Fair? There is only one bit ' the last bit ' that says the Trade Fair is at the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce. The rest, well, you only have to read it. I have it in front of me.

Mayor, they may be the truth, say, from certain points of view, but surely an article about a Palestinian Trade Fair should not include loads of things about the West Bank and illegal occupations and a one-sided attack. Irrespective of what we believe one way or the other, it is not really an article about the Palestinian Trade Fair. It is a bit like if you allowed me to put an article here about a European Union Trade Fair, you would get the usual UKIP rant about the inequities of the European Union, and you would rightly subedit it down...

Even if it has nothing to do with London.

Londoner Article (Supplementary) [10]

  • Question by: Bob Neill
  • Meeting date: 17 November 2004
Does it not strike you that your behaviour in this matter gives rise to a serious concern that you deliberately treat some sections of the diverse communities in London differently to others?

You also think it is a nonsense then that 'Publicity should be relevant to the functions of the Authority'? That is a nonsense as well, is it?
