In the VAWG Action Plan updates – Spring 2025 progress report published by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) in July 2025 it says that: “In November 2024, we achieved our target of uplifting 565 officers and staff into public protection roles, supporting our ambition of being frontline focused.” Of these 565 new public protection roles could you tell me what proportion of this is put towards tackling violence against women and girls?

In the VAWG Action Plan updates – Spring 2025 progress report published by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) in July 2025 it says that: “Op Soteria training (Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) First Responder) is now established in recruit training and in autumn 2024 we began a wider rollout to around 20,000 frontline officers and staff.” How is the MPS measuring the impact of this training over the medium term and ensuring that the training is being retained by those who have taken it?

A constituent has contacted me after reporting being robbed and sexually harassed to the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). They said that despite reporting these incidents to the MPS no action was taken, and so they have decided to not report any other crimes they experience, not because they don’t want to, but because they have no hope left in the MPS.
