The Minister for Sport (Richard Caborn) stated in Parliament on October 18: `The London Council Tax precept will be used to fund the Olympics Delivery Authority (ODA) which, although focused on the Lower Lea Valley, will undertake work across the whole country.' Therefore Londoners will be paying, not just for London facilities but for facilities elsewhere. How much of the 38p per week that Londoners are paying for the Olympics will be spent outside London?

If the Mary Reilly (Chair, LDA) prediction about it going above £1 billion is to be proved right, you are saying that Council Taxpayers will not to have to pay a penny towards that. Where will that money be coming from?
