- In March 2022, the Greater London Authority (GLA) published an independent review by The Equal Group, which identified the structural barriers that prevent Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority staff progressing at the GLA.
- It includes 42 recommendations to remove these barriers to the recruitment and progression of minority ethnic staff.
- The Chief Officer has accepted all 42 recommendations and committed to providing the GLA Oversight Committee with six-monthly updates on progress.
Tomorrow, the GLA Oversight Committee will ask:
- What progress has been made on the independent review by The Equal Group since March 2022?
- Is the GLA response really dealing with the scale of the findings?
- Do staff feel enough action is being taken in response to the review?
- How is the GLA resourcing this area, to ensure that all 42 recommendations are fully delivered?
The Committee will also examine the biannual GLA Workforce Report which includes key data such as headcount, pay and diversity. The guests are:
