Delivering Mayoral ‘mandates’
The Mayor has adopted a new governance approach in which fourteen ‘mandates’ have been produced, which commission major programmes that the GLA will deliver.
The mandates will be operationalised through Programme Delivery Plans, some of which have already been published as Mayoral Decisions. So far, Delivery Plans for seven of the 14 mandates have been produced.
Tomorrow, the GLA Oversight Committee will scrutinise the progress on producing the mandates and delivery plans, the expected impact, and the interaction between these documents and other strategic governance arrangements in place, including: statutory strategies, missions, and the new Government plans for an Integrated Settlement.
The Committee will discuss the objectives and utilization of the mandates and delivery plans with:
- Richard Watts, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Mayor of London
- Fay Hammond, Chief Finance Officer
The Committee will also question guests on the GLA Workforce Report. The guests are:
- Dianne Tranmer, Executive Director of Corporate Resources at the GLA
- Philip Graham, Executive Director, Good Growth
- Tunde Olanyinka, Executive Director, Communities and Skills
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 10 September from 2pm, in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
