Summary of request

Your request

I would like to see the details of the public consultation for the pedestrianisation of Oxford Street. How many took part, how many were in favour? Can I have access to the comments participants made about the scheme? What is the purpose of this change? What research has been done on the impact of pedestrianisation of Oxford Street on the area, transportation, crime, the local businesses and the residents

Send information on the above questions, illustrating that all the points above have been taken into consideration. What is the cost of the pedestrianisation? Explain what the point of this venture is.

Our response

You can find the details you have requested below regarding the principle of pedestrianisation in the consultation report here: Oxford Street Transformation | London City Hall

TfL will be consulting on the detailed highways and traffic impacts of pedestrianising the first stretch of Oxford Street, from Orchard Street to Great Portland Street, this autumn. Following that consultation, more details will be made available in a consultation report before a decision is made.
