FOI - New London Architecture [Jan 2026]

1. Details of all financial sponsorship, grants, or payments made by the GLA to New London Architecture (NLA) or its associated programmes (including the New London Agenda, NLA Awards, and NLA Insight reports) from 2019 to present.
2. Copies of contracts, agreements, or memoranda of understanding relating to GLA’s sponsorship of NLA (including the £38,500 principal partnership noted for 2025–26).
3. Any internal correspondence, briefing notes, or decision papers relating to the rationale for funding NLA, including expected outcomes or deliverables.
4. A breakdown of any in-kind support (e.g. staff time, venue provision, communications) provided to NLA by the GLA.
5. The names of any Assembly Members or members of the GLA staff who have declared their membership of the NLA?

Our response

1. The GLA publishes all expenditure over £250.00 here: Our spending | London City Hall. This includes payments to an organisation or individual for goods and services regardless of whether the payment is grant funding, under contract or a general transaction. You can combine the reports and search for transactions by name (e.g. ‘NEW LONDON ARCHITECTURE’).

4. The principal partnership arrangement provides the opportunity for GLA to make a significant contribution to NLA’s programme, supporting the delivery of the Mayor’s strategic priorities to stimulate regeneration and create new homes and jobs. There is no in-kind support provided as the arrangement adds value to the GLA’s work programmes.
5. Many staff members have personal memberships with NLA, managed individually, through the principal partnership arrangement. We do not have access to those who have declared these memberships.
