Meet Signol

Tech startup Signol wants to help the world’s airlines reduce the amount of fuel they use with their cutting-edge behavioural science and customisable platform.

In 2014, Signol’s team of leading behavioural experts and economists achieved $6.1 million in fuel savings, 54m lbs in CO2 savings, and up to 15% increase in job satisfaction for an international airline.

Using behavioural science, they coached 335 airline captains to better fuel saving behaviours with big results. In just eight months, they produced the lowest ever measured carbon abatement cost in history.

Their smart software uses behavioural economics and data science to cut fuel waste and save firms millions of dollars.

The platform allows businesses to understand where waste comes from and how it can be managed without expensive hardware and further training.

And it’s also good news for employees as Signol puts independent operators in charge of their data to help them understand their behavioural patterns and save fuel, time, or effort.

And for managers the system describes employee patterns to identify issues with craft, routes, and schedules before they become problems.

Signol is grabbing the attention of the aviation industry and just recently was awarded first prize at the Rolls-Royce Aviation Challenge sponsored by Singapore Airlines and Snowflake Software.
